CONFERENCE HALL OF PLASENCIA INAUGURATED

09/2017

Last June 22, the Conference Hall of Plasencia was officially inaugurated by a concert from the Extremadura Orchestra as well as an open-doors day. This iconic building was designed by Madrid-based architectural firm SelgasCano with the participation of FHECOR who developed the textile façade and roof of the building, produced by Lastra&Zorrilla.

The façade is composed of a sheet of ETFE supported by a framing structure of circular tubes which is connected at several points to the main structure of the Conference Hall. In order to guarantee stability under wind loads, a system of struts and cables has been designed to stiffen the areas of the façade with the longest spans between the support of the tubes.
