The new bridge over Virilla River in Costa Rica, part of the National Route 147, enters its final construction stage after the installation of the steel structure. The new bridge is a steel-concrete composite frame bridge with a total length of 132.6 meters divided into three spans: 39.5 m-54 m-39.1 m.

The installation sequence of the steel structure has been the following:
- Placing the legs of the frame at a vertical position.
- Rotation of the legs to their final inclined position.
- Auxiliary steel structure installation for the launching of the bridge deck.
- Bridge deck launching and connection to the legs.
- 12-meter long central deck segment installation with the use of cranes located on top of the existing bridge.

The new bridge was designed by a JV composed of FHECOR and GINPROSA, which were awarded the competition promoted by the United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS).

The construction works for the bridge have been carried out by COPISA with the collaboration of ALE-heavy lift. Since the beginning of the construction works in June 2017, FHECOR has acted as advisor to the UNOPS, which has managed the construction works on behalf of CONAVI.
