THE MULTIFUNCTIONAL BUILDING OF ERREBAL PLAZIA, EIBAR, OPENED TO THE PUBLIC

07/2021

The Errebal Plazta multifunctional building in Eibar, Basque Country, Spain, opened to the public last week. This is the beginning of a sequential opening of the complete complex in the following months as the building construction process of the different areas is finished.
The roof of the new building is the most outstanding element of the structure. It is composed of twenty steel arches, which intersect two by two at the point of maximum elevation. The diamond and triangular shape areas have been covered by ETFE cushions, providing isolation to the building while maintaining natural light.
These arches start at a perimeter steel girder supported by V pillars. Both the arches and the pillars are formed of hollow tubular profiles.
FHECOR Ingenieros Consultores delivered the construction project of the steel roof, which is part of the Multifunctional Building and Cultural Equipment Errebal Modified Project, elaborated by the joint venture between INJELAN and ZMZ Asociados SLP.

The construction joint venture is formed by Iza and Campezo. The steel fabrication company responsible for the manufacture and erection of the steel roof is Estrumar. IASO developed the project for the textile roof and carried out its assembly.
