NEW CONTRACT AWARD FOR THE DRAFTING OF A NEW PROJECT IN GALICIA

12/2022

The Pamplona City Council has just awarded us the contract for the DRAFTING OF THE INTEGRAL REHABILITATION PROJECT OF THE OBLATAS BRIDGE, in Pamplona.

FHECOR previously carried out several main inspections that led to the drafting of an evaluation and possible solutions report that concluded that it was necessary to undertake repair work to correct the detected damage.

The structure consists of an upper arch bridge, cable-stayed by the deck, with a span of about 50 meters. The deck is suspended from the raised arch by means of suspension cables. It is defined by an unique elevated arch arranged on the axis of the deck, falling at its ends on the central median strip.

It is necessary to emphasize the great singularity of the structure, designed in 1991 by the distinguished Civil Engineers Juan José Arenas, Joaquín Salanueva and Marcos Pantaleón, who have contributed in a very outstanding way to the creation of a heritage of relevant bridges that constitute true landmarks of bridge engineering, such as the arch bridge we are dealing with.
