Last January 9th, we signed a new contract with EUSKAL TRENBIDE SAREA – BASQUE RAILWAY NETWORK, together with INJELAN, S.L. for the SUPPORT SERVICES FOR THE MANAGEMENT OF THE WORKS OF THE CONSTRUCTION PROJECT FOR THE REPAIR AND REINFORCEMENT OF THE BRIDGE OVER THE UROLA RIVER AT KP 79/036 OF THE BILBAO-DONOSTIA STD LINE IN ZUMAIA, GIPUZKOA, with a 15-month completion period for the works.

The bridge over the Urola River was built in 1900. Two 51 m hyperstatic spans form it with a total length of 102 m. Two continuous main girders form the deck in Town type truss, later reinforced by a central Warren type truss. The pier has a total height of about 12.50 m.

The team, consisting of FHECOR and INJELAN, were the project designers for the rehabilitation of the bridge in April 2021. A designer's most excellent satisfaction is seeing his work completed and assisting in the execution of the results as he conceived them in the design phase.
