Euskal Trenbide Sarea manages and administers the railway infrastructures under the responsibility of the Basque Autonomous Community.
The network covered by the works is primarily distributed across the following lines and branches: Atxuri-Kukullaga, Bilbao-Donostia, Amorebieta-Bermeo, Donostia-Hendaia, Casco Viejo-Lezama, Lutxana-Sondika, Basurto-Ariz, Irauregi-Lutxana, Azpeitia-Lasao, Lasarte-Oria, Matiko-Deusto, and the Larreineta Funicular.
The total length amounts to approximately 210 km of railway infrastructure, comprising around 385 structures.
The historical origin of the network, combined with successive expansions, variants, track doublings, coverings, replacements, and urban interventions carried out over time, has resulted in a highly diverse set of viaducts, trestles, underpasses, overpasses, footbridges, false tunnels, and covered sections, located in very different contexts.
As an improvement, the AURA management software was proposed, which allows loading files based on BIM methodology in the open IFC format, including the latest IFC 4.0 revision. This proposal refers to incorporating models into the document manager, not to developing projects using this methodology, except for a specific case involving one of the steel bridges.
The proposed solution for managing the structures is based on AURA, a cloud-based web platform jointly developed by CIVILNOVA Solutions and FHECOR for advanced management of bridges and crossings. It is a tool in continuous evolution, incorporating periodic functional improvements.
