The Joint Venture (JV) formed by INJELAN and FHECOR carried out for BIDEGI the drafting of the Arbizelai Viaduct Repair Project as well as the Site Management.
The repair works focused on correcting the condition of the supports and uplift prevention system of the north abutment of the viaduct.
The actions performed were:
- Improving access to the work area at the abutment.
- Replacement of neoprene bearings.
- Replacement of the uplift prevention system.
- For the replacement of the bearings and the uplift prevention system, a temporary uplift prevention system using tie rods was installed, anchored to a footing embedded in the ground.
- Concrete pouring for an end section of the base slab and the outer part of the diaphragm of the supports at Abutment 2.
- Interior repainting of a section of the deck’s box girder.
- Replacement of the roadway joint at Abutment 2.
- Construction of a walkway for inspection and maintenance of the supports at Abutment 2.
